HUNTSVILLE BOTANICAL GARDEN November 1, 2007. 2007 marks twelve years of the Huntsville Botanical Garden’s Galaxy of Lights. Galaxy is a magnificent mile and a half-long holiday light extravaganza featuring larger-than-life animated light displays. Special exhibits include nursery rhymes, a holiday village, dinosaurs, wild animals, a magical twinkling icicle forest, garden scenes, a patriotic display featuring red, white, and blue ‘fireworks’, and a hilarious host of animated snowmen. Galaxy is a family treat and tradition, and the biggest holiday attraction in Alabama! Galaxy of Lights has been recognized by the Southeast Tourism Society as a Top 20 Event for many years, it was included on the American Bus Association’s Top 100 Events, and was named North Alabama Tourism Association’s Event of the Year in 2003. Over 127,000 visitors enjoyed the display in 2006.
