Reptile Roundup - Life Science in the Garden, grades 6-8
Wednesday January 16, 2013:
Anderson Education Center Classroom
Learn to distinguish reptiles from amphibians and to classify reptiles by their order. There are four reptile orders in existence today. We will focus our attention on the order, Squamata which includes 9,150 species of lizards, snakes, and worm lizards. Experience a live reptile demonstration!
6th-8th: Students examine and discuss animal adaptation. They will read an article about snakes, conduct research on ways animals adapt, develop a diagram, and write a short story written from the perspective of the animal they researched.
Fee: Members $8, Non-members $10 (includes all materials and supplies)
Reservations required. For reservation information and payment options, click here.
All of our new homeschool options align with curricula for K-2, 3-5, and 6-8. Each program uses the Garden’s 120 acres of developed and natural areas as a teaching classroom, while connecting to National Education Standards and the Alabama Course of Study.
