Enjoy a continental breakfast and learn about the life cycle of the Alabama state insect; Monarch Butterflies! Amanda Maples, our own butterfly expert answers questions on how we maintain our butterflies all season. Adults and children get a close-up look at how Monarchs make their long journey to Mexico while you tag and release Monarchs into our very own Monarch Watch Waystation garden.

Grab your naturalist hat and get ready to know trees - from the shade to the science, the fruit to the forest, and the legends to the lumber. To know trees is to love them! We have over 100 different tree species in the Garden. Learn to identify trees by their bark, leaves, seeds and tree shape too.

Daisy Girl Scout Day- Greenhouse and Garden Tour

Satisfy a requirement from the It’s Your Planet – Love it! And it’s Your World – Change it!  Daisy Scout awards. Take a trip to the Huntsville Botanical Garden to see how flowers are grown!  Learn about the needs of plants, how they grow in a greenhouse and outside in the garden, too, Explore the texture of various types of soil and identify the parts of a plant and its flower. Walk through the spectacular 112-acre Garden looking for the 11 flowers from the Daisy Flower Garden. We have them all!

Following each program, troops are welcome to stay for a self-guided visit of the Garden.
