Spring Break Camp: Geology in My BIG Backyard
Monday March 25, 2013 - Friday March 29, 2013:
Anderson Education Center Classroom
Spring Break Camp
9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
During the introductory activity, students will learn that geology is a lot like detective work. Geologists infer the sequence and timing of events by collecting evidence and making observations, just like a detective. We will combine indoor and outside activities to expose students to their new-found geologic interpretation skills. This camp theme provides a strong educational program by getting students familiar with the idea that geology is something tangible and that it affects the world around them. They should be inspired to ask questions about how geologic processes shaped the world around them and make observations to answer those questions.
