The Garden Guild is hosting its third annual fall plant sale. Fall is the prime season for planting trees, shrubs, and perennials, as roots develop and become better established during the cooler weather, resulting in a healthier spring showing. Plants selected for the sale will be varieties that are native or adapted to zone 7 and offer interesting color, form, and/or function. Attention is given to those which are more disease resistant, drought tolerant, and suitable to grow in an urban landscape. Plants with outstanding characteristics proven to grow most satisfactorily in this area will be showcased as Blue Ribbon Winners.
Landscape designers, master gardeners, and our own Harvey Cotten will be available during sale hours to assist with plant selections and recommendations.
The master gardeners will be doing free pH testing! A cup of dry soil for each area being tested is all that is required.
