Scarecrows in their fall glory are placed throughout the Garden through October 31. As you walk through the Garden, you’ll be amazed by over 90 Scarecrows made by businesses, school groups, church groups and individuals. Traditional, scary or just plain fun, they are all imaginative and add a whimsical atmosphere. Even the trees take on a new look in the Enchanted Forest.

On weekends enjoy hayrides, the amazing sorghum maze and some extra-special events! 'Crow on down for a fall of fabulous family fun! Don’t miss this chance to see our 2009 Scarecrow Trail and Enchanted Forest daily through October 31st during normal Garden hours.

Bootanica

Saturday, October 24, 6-8:30 p.m.

It’s a new Boo!!! Bootanica is back and all new for 2009!!! The evening kicks off with a Costume Contest at 6 p.m. in the Boeing-Toyota Amphitheatre. Adults, children and dogs are invited to compete in their Halloween best. Prizes will be awarded in adult, children and pet categories.

Afterwards, enjoy face painting, bobbing for apples, children’s games and spooky activities in the Children’s Garden. Then, catch the hayride to the back of the Garden to attempt the Sorghum Maze, enjoy smores by the camp fire, and for those who dare, try to survive the scariest enchanted forest walk ever! Sorry, Dogs are not allowed on the hayride, but can proceed through the Garden for the other Bootanica events.

Don’t miss the new Boo! Fees are $10 for adult non-members, $8 for members, $5 for children age 3-18 and $1 for dogs. Tickets may be purchased online or by calling Special Events at (256) 430-3572 ext. 241.

Halloween Horse Parade & Garden Trick or Treat

Saturday, October 31, 11 a.m., Children’s Garden

Don’t miss this chance to see horses and riders in costume for this one of a kind parade brought to you by the Toney Saddle Club. Young and old alike will delight in the sites of this crazy equine event! Come in costume and trick or treat in the Children’s Garden, while seeing the 2009 Scarecrows for one last time!
